Stay at Yalbaroo, where you and your horse are free to explore Cainbable Creek and the verdant foothills of Lamington National Park, amid the Scenic Rim.

An old barn has been partially converted to form the living quarters here at Yalbaroo and has a beautiful private outlook away from the main house and gardens. From the outside it’s rustic, but on the inside it boasts all the modern comforts and is fully self contained.

Yalbaroo sits 60 metres from Cainbable Creek in a country setting. Yalbaroo has full mobile coverage if you are with Telstra, smaller providers have limited coverage. You can choose to switch off your phone and truly have a break from the hustle and bustle of city living. Of course, if you need to work you can bring your mobile WIFI as there is full mobile phone reception if needed.

The retreat

Your very own, self contained, secluded retreat awaits you. With an enclosed verandah, and beautiful 180 degree country views, you can kick back in comfort and enjoy the peace and quiet without a soul around.

The retreat has a separate bedroom, spacious lounge area and modern bathroom facilities. There is also an outdoor servery with a beautiful dining area, brilliant for your morning breakfast in the sunshine.

For that extra special Yalbaroo touch, a meandering pathway from the verandah leads you to your very own, super cosy outdoor area with a fire pit for roasting those marshmallows.

The Stables

For your nightly stable fee your horses will enjoy their own accommodation here at Yalbaroo.

Old meets new. Wood and steel. The stables have been renovated to house your 4 legged friends in style. The stables are attached to the retreat so your horses are safe.

Just outside the stables is a fully secure wash bay to wash your horses down at the end of the day. It has a textured concrete floor to avoid any slipping when it’s wet plus it is also fully enclosed for those that find bath time difficult.

The boxes are very comfortable (8m2). They all have sliding windows for your horse to see outside or to block out wet or windy weather. Each box has an auto waterer and is fully divided from the adjacent boxes with square mesh up top and rubber lining below. There is also a lockable tac room with saddle horses to safely house your tac during your stay. Feed is not provided so please ensure you bring your own hay / hard feed with you to last the duration of your stay.

Your horses will have a comfortable stay right beside you and will more than likely rise before you do in anticipation of the day’s trails.

Our Location

Yalbaroo is a small hobby farm located on Cainbable Creek in the foothills of Lamington National Park. It is a 25 minute drive from the township of Beaudesert out through the Nindooinbah Valley and down into the Cainbable Valley.

Getting Here

From Brisbane Road, Beaudesert, take Kerry Road to Nindooinbah Estate Road (approx. 7.5 km / 7 mins). Turn left into Nindooinbah Estate Road, travel for about 2 km / 2 mins and keep right at the right hand turn. Continue for another 5 km then turn left onto Cainbable Creek Road. Follow Cainbable Creek Road (approx. 7.7 km / 8 mins) to arrive at Yalbaroo Scenic Rim Retreat on your right-hand side.

My husband and I stayed at Yalbaroo this week, and highly recommemd it for a relaxing getaway. Nothing has been overlooked in making your stay comfortable for you and your horses. With hours of trail riding you wont run out of wonderful scenery and interesting trails. The accommodation is suoerb and you can choose beautiful stables or day paddocks for your equine friends. Rachel and Ray were the perfect hosts.
